DAIKEI MILLS
Born in 1983 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. In 2011, he founded the architecture firm DAIKEI MILLS. While working on a wide range of design projects, including commercial spaces and public facilities, he has consistently explored the relationship between people and space. In 2019, he launched SKWAT, an initiative that temporarily occupies unused spaces in society and opens them to the public. Since 2021, he has served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design at Tama Art University.
He was responsible for the architectural design of OAO HAUS KYOTO.

DAIKEI MILLS・SKWAT・SKAC
In the first part, we feature an interview with Keisuke Nakamura, representative of DAIKEI MILLS, and designer Masato Iwasaki, exploring the philosophies behind DAIKEI MILLS and SKWAT, as well as the design concept of SKAC (SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE), which opened in November 2024. They discuss the journey behind the establishment of DAIKEI MILLS and their vision for the future of architecture and spatial design.

OAO HAUS KYOYO
In the second part, we feature a conversation exploring the design background of OAO HAUS KYOTO, which opened last year, as well as DAIKEI MILLS’ thoughts on the industries and creators they continue to collaborate with, including forestry professionals and traditional roof tile craftsmen.
