ARRAY FLAT

Blurring the boundary between classic footwear and sneakers, it brings timeless design into a contemporary context.

The antique-toned leather, reminiscent of vintage finishes, enhances the dimensional quality of the perforation pattern, bringing depth and character to the overall silhouette.

FRAME

FRAME distills the traditional structure of the Gurkha sandal into its essential framework, focusing only on the elements necessary to support the foot. The sculpted leather upper provides a secure hold while multiple openings enhance breathability and create a sense of visual lightness.

An effortless silhouette is combined with OAO's signature voluminous sole, delivering soft cushioning and stable walking performance. FRAME balances the openness of a sandal with the comfort of a sneaker.

FRAME FLAT

FRAME FLAT refines the traditional structure of the Gurkha sandal by reducing the upper to its essential framework for supporting the foot and combining it with a flat rubber sole by Vibram®. The result is a sharper, more streamlined silhouette.

Offering soft cushioning and a flexible feel that gently conforms to the foot, FRAME FLAT combines the openness of a sandal with the comfort of a sneaker. Snap-button straps allow for smooth and effortless on-and-off wear.

LES ARCS FLIP

The LES ARCS series introduces a new flip sandal inspired by the LES ARCS CHAIR, selected by French architect Charlotte Perriand for the renowned Alpine ski resort.

The sole's linear silhouette reflects the chair's architectural rigidity, while the rhythmic sequence of surrounding stitch lines and rivets brings a sense of softness and lightness to the overall design.

An original OAO metal detail, inspired by embroidery, serves as a distinctive signature element on the upper.

SOMA

SOMA draws inspiration from a shared principle found in traditional Japanese architecture and clothing — layering materials while preserving a sense of openness to gently embrace the body and surrounding space.

The footbed features tatami crafted from domestically grown igusa rush grass from Yatsushiro, Kumamoto. By incorporating a tactile sensation deeply familiar in Japanese daily life, SOMA offers a unique sense of comfort and reassurance.

Bringing together two elements of Japanese living — the architecture of the home and garments that envelop the body — SOMA reinterprets traditional structures and materials into a contemporary sandal.

SUNLIGHT CORE 0

SUNLIGHT CORE 0 is OAO's first model created through a bespoke-inspired approach. The entire upper is adorned with chain stitch embroidery, one of the oldest surviving embroidery techniques, where each loop is secured by the next to form a continuous chain. Its three-dimensional texture creates a distinctive presence, evoking the warmth and character of traditional handcraft.

While utilizing the robust and highly durable Goodyear welt construction, the insole board is crafted with a soft nonwoven material developed by Carl Freudenberg instead of traditional leather. This achieves a level of flexibility comparable to a sneaker while maintaining the refined structure of classic footwear.

NODE FLAT

OAO's signature model NODE, where the structure of the traditional Japanese thong sandal meets the enveloping construction of Western leather footwear, is now available in a flat sole version.

Featuring Vibram® FuroCup, a sole known for its reliable grip and lightweight performance, combined with an EVA footbed, NODE FLAT delivers soft cushioning and a comfortable walking experience. The upper is crafted from supple leather with nuanced tonal variations reminiscent of vintage leather, adding depth and character to the design.

MONOLITH, a defining silhouette of OAO, returns in a refined all-leather construction.
